ROSHAN
AWARDS
The Roshan Awards is an annual ceremony celebrating the best of professional Dota 2 - players, teams, coaches, and personalities who defined the competitive year.
Inspired by the tradition of the Oscars, BAFTAs, and The Game Awards, the Roshan Awards combines the voices of the community with the expertise of those who live and breathe the pro scene. Votes are split 60% from personalities - players, casters, analysts, and coaches - and 40% from the wider Dota 2 community.
The name comes from Roshan - the legendary boss at the heart of every Dota 2 match, guardian of the Aegis of Champions. Defeating Roshan is the mark of a great team. Winning a Roshan Award is the mark of a great year.
HOW VOTING WORKS
Any eligible pro player can be nominated across 12 categories. Community members vote via Steam or Reddit login. Personalities submit private ranked ballots via a one-time secure link.
Once the voting window closes, the 5 most-nominated players per category are revealed publicly. Final scores remain sealed - the suspense builds.
Winners are determined by a weighted combination of personality votes (60%) and community votes (40%), and revealed on results day across all 12 categories.
THE CATEGORIES
The Roshan Awards is a fan-run initiative and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Valve Corporation or the official Dota 2 brand.
